Had to do a 3D model, rig and animate. Talk about brain strain. Those envelopes, bones and organic modeling had smoke coming out of my ears. No texturing or anything but should at least pass the assignment. I didn't think it was going to be so much harder than the 3D environments which I did pretty well with but this class almost killed me.

My opinion is worth about zip 'cause I don't model HOWEVER,
It is a great character to animate because people associate the vikings with all kinds of strange ideas.
Looks like a good job to me!
You'll know when you get there! My Dad

Yeah, that 3D stuff can be a killer. SO fun tho when you get it all to come together.
What app are you using?

3DS Max. The rigging in particular was painful for me.

Character Studio didn't ease any of the pain?
I've been using Lightwave, but I'm gonna start poking around with SoftImage. I LOVE 2D, but I have this 3D monkey on my back. Working with AS has helped me ignore him...somewhat.
Here's a comp done (and rejected
) earlier this year.

@Gnaws - that's cool work. I've heard the term "Character Studio" but haven't used it -is it a plugin or buried somewhere in my copy of Max? Have to check when I get home.

Actually it's spelled "Bonz" -- I worked at a pet store for about 5 years and that name is burned into my memory (just don't mention hamsters....brrr...)
