Re: Transparency with OpenEXR files
If the idea is to composite Moho's rendering with higher color-depth images, like, for example, backgrounds, instead, I will import a 24-bit version of the images as a reference. Then, I would use Moho's Layer Comps and Moho Exporter to render out passes from Moho, but disable the Layer Comps for th...

Re: Transparency with OpenEXR files
Moho's OpenEXR support is lacking for technical reasons. For importing, EXR isn't particularly useful in Moho because Moho is effectively limited to 8-bits per channel (24-bits RGB + 8-bits Alpha). Also, Moho can't take advantage of any auxiliary channels the EXR may contain (depth, object-material ...

Re: Masking don't work with bones!
Can you bake the gradient effect? I use Hayasidists Bake To PNG script for situations like this. Since this sounds like a rigged layer, I'm guessing not. In that case, try using an image for the gradient instead of the Gradient effect. You can use the Image Layer effect for this, or mask the gradien...

Re: Ranking of most system intensive features
Deforming very high-resolution images can bog down a system. In this situation, make sure GPU caching is enabled. If possible, create versions of your assets with the appropriate resolution (i.e., for wide shots, reduce the image size.) Note: Some scaling issues can occur when setting these up. Ther...

Re: Masking don't work with bones!
It must be a display bug. Try this as a workaround: 1. Duplicate the Mask layer. 2. In the duplicate layer, set the mask property to Do Not Mask This Layer. 3. Set the Mask layer to Add To Mask But Keep Invisible. The display and render result should be correct on 0 and later frames. Be sure to use ...

Re: Masking don't work with bones!
Ok, NOW I see what you mean. Sorry, I hadn't stepped into an animation frame. Yes, I'm seeing the error too, and it appears to be a display-only error.

Re: Masking don't work with bones!
Layer B is a solid red circle that's being multiplied over Layer A, so it's coloring the blue as red, and Layer A is the mask for Layer B so its alpha is trimming Layer B's circle to a smaller circle. To me, this seems to be working here, even when I add a bone. Sorry, I probably don't understand wh...

Re: Masking don't work with bones!
Oh, I see...you have two separate shapes in your mask layer. Let me look again to see what you're trying to do.

Re: Masking don't work with bones!
It seems to be working here... https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dr1qciyyht3groczgoemj/2024-05-24_090709.png?rlkey=r3sx8ihib0w30qfww43pex44a&raw=1 I added the bone and then offset the mask to see what it was masking. Is this not correct? Update: Oh, wait...something is weird here, isn't it? Let me ...

Re: Transfer style to layer
There's are Copy/Paste buttons in the custom panel that you can use to apply the style to the regular side of the panel. This works, but be aware that it completely overrides any override changes you made in the regular side. I'm guessing what you really want is a way to automatically merge the sett...

Re: Layer reference acceptable parameters
[Revised from a previous post:] When I’m working on a production with multiple shots, I typically make a 'work' directory where I save incremental versions of my project, and the most recent version of the asset is saved outside of my work directory and has no version number. This unnumbered version...

Re: Workspace grid
I, too, wish there was a fixed Grid as an option. The layer-specific Grid is definitely useful (sometimes I wish other programs had this as an option,) but as a global 'project-wide' tool, it's not as helpful. For now, I would do what slowtiger suggested: make a separate overlay layer and use that a...

Re: When rendering the moho file, a floating framerate is obtained.
If you're using the Apple ProRes option, I think this is caused by a variable frame rate setting inside the codec. Apple iPhone videos do this, and it makes me nuts when editing footage exported from the phone--the playback looks fine, but the footage's frame rate is all over the place, which makes ...

Re: Create shape picking colors
I should add that, I don't typically bother naming shapes. It's a fairly new thing for me, and I only do it when I KNOW I'll be selecting and animating a bunch of stacked shapes in a rig or animation. Most recently, this was for the hair of characters in the last couple of productions I worked on, w...
