Myles's Moho Tips
Myles has some great tips for special effects like fire and smoke, and also some great examples using Moho's hierarchical layers. Myles has also been busy writing add-on software for Moho. Check out his free programs for lip-syncing and other tricks.

Steve Ryan's Moho Tutorials
Steve has a growing collection of tutorials that can help a new Moho user figure out what's going on. His tutorials are Flash movies where you can actually hear him describe the process and see him click through the sample project in Moho.

Video Editing and Effects

Adobe Premiere
A video editing program is a great tool in an animator's software arsenal. Adobe Premiere is an example of a video editor that is great for splicing together multiple shots into a full cartoon, as well as adding a sound effects and music.

RE:Vision Effects, Inc.
RE:Vision Effects has some very cool video filters, for live-action video, animation, 3D, whatever. Their motion blur filter in particular can be a useful companion to Moho.

Huffyuv
Huffyuv is a lossless AVI video codec for Windows. It also has the ability to encode alpha channels, which is useful when you want to composite Moho animations with other video sources.

Cinelerra
Non-linear editor & compositer for Linux.

Kino
Non-Linear digital video editor for Linux.

Audio Editing

Audacity
A free multitrack audio editor for Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.

UCL Enhance
An audio tool that specializes in cleaning up/enhancing speech. Also free.

Sound Forge
A professional-level audio editor. Used and recommended by Moho users.

Adobe Audition
Adobe Audition (formerly Cool Edit Pro) is another professional-level audio editor. Also recommended by Moho users.

Lip-Sync

Pamela
Pamela is a lip-syncing tool specifically designed to work with Moho. It's easy to use, and best of all, free!

Magpie and Magpie Pro
Third Wish makes a very useful tool for animators called Magpie. It helps you analyze a voice recording and figure out how to lip-sync your animation to it. Magpie Pro now comes with built-in support for working with Moho.

JLipSync
JLipSync is a free lip-sync program written by David Cuny. The latest version adds support for working with Moho. Because it is written in Java, JLipSync should be usable on all operating systems.

Image Editing

Adobe Photoshop
The king of image editing software, Photoshop is an excellent tool for use with Moho. Use Photoshop to paint backgrounds or textures, or to process photographs before animating them in Moho.

The Gimp
The Gimp is a free image editing program with many of the features of Photoshop. The Gimp is available for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS.

Corel Painter
Painter is a natural media painting program, great for creating hand-painted-looking artwork.

Dogwaffle
Dogwaffle is a drawing/sketching/painting program that can achieve a nice, natural-media look. Dogwaffle also has the ability to paint on top of an AVI file. Use Dogwaffle to paint backgrounds, textures, or add hand-painted elements to your rendered Moho movie.

3D

Wings 3D
Wings 3D is a free 3D modeling program that is capable of creating OBJ files for Moho to import.

Other Animation Software

Macromedia Flash
Moho can export animation files in Macromedia's Flash (SWF) format, designed for streaming animation over the web. Use Macromedia's Flash authoring tool to add sound, interactivity, and more to your Moho masterpiece.

Stop Motion Pro
Stop Motion Pro is a tool for stop-motion animation. If you've got a video camera hooked up to your PC, you've really got to check this out. There have got to be some cool ways to use this program together with Moho...
