How to hide edges during animation?

For not moving crossing shapes I can use "Hide edge" to hide edges.

But is there a tool to hide edges during animation that
automatically shortens or lengthens lines to hide edges?

For example I have an oval and a moving rectangle.
Hide edges at frame 1:

I moved the rectangle in frame 24 to this position:

But I want that the rectangle lines are be lengthens until the crossing
points of the oval for every frame.

Have I to shorten/lengthen the rectangle line for every frame manually or is
there a tool to do this automatically if I only draw frame 1 and frame 24?

I'm sure there are many ways to do this ... and I'm guessing that this is just a simplification of the actual artwork.

however - in this simple case one way it can be done is with layers ...

Group:
>copy by ref of circle - but no stroke
>rectangle - all edges have stroke
>circle (to keep the line widths looking the same the stroke width here needs to be twice that of rectangle).

now you can move either or both however you like

You could use a patch layer between circle and rectangle.

Try this and use bone A to move the sq. make sure the bones are not parented together.
