Hey guys
I'm about to start creating my first character but just wondered something. What is the best way to tackle drawing the head/face? Should I have the face as one layer with all the features, i.e, nose, mouth etc drawn in or should I have them all done as separate layers and then add them in?
The rest of the character will be created with all the body parts as separate layer but I jusdt wasn't sure about the head/face.
You comments greatly appreciated

Do You Draw The Whole Face Or Draw The Features Separately?

Whichever is easiest for you.
I tend to start out with features on separate layers because it is easier to select points.
Depending on the set up of the file I will paste the features back in to one layer... sometimes though I can't do this if I have masking for eyes and mouth or I need to do any layer sorting for head turns.
Of course now I'm talking about more complex faces with shading and highlights. I often draw the shading on a separate layer for the same reason... easier to select points. At the end I will paste all those onto one layer with the rest of the face.
