Old Versions of Moho in 2022

Hi, I saw an offer for an old version of Moho Pro called Anime Studio 9.5 being sold as a disc. I wanted to purchase it, but then I saw on here that old versions of Moho/ Anime Studio are not supported anymore. I did see that on Smith Micro's site there were final installers for Anime Studio 10, 11, and Moho Pro 12, but not Anime Studio 9.5. Is there any way I would be able to use it on my laptop if I were to purchase that version? Maybe the Anime Studio 10 installer could work for version 9.5?

Every installer only works for the one version it was made for.

I happily use a version 8 and a version 9.5 on one of my Macs, but they only work because of its very old OS version, not on any newer machine.

Don't buy.

As far as I know, there is no official way to activate a version of Moho older than ASP 10. The only versions you can activate in 2022 are ASP 10 & 11, Moho 12 & 13.0, and Moho 13.5.5.

Also, be advised that paying for any version of Moho or Anime Studio older than Moho 12 means you're stuck with that version. The only official upgrade path is from Moho 12 (with a valid license) to Moho 13.5.5. ($150 for a limited time.)

If you would like to support Lost Marble and the future development of Moho, it's best to purchase Moho 13.5.5 directly from them or at least purchase their upgrade from Moho 12.

If you get the serial number with the DVD you can install and activate a v9.5 without problems, But, as others already said: don't buy.

It does sound like pre-10 versions can be activated with serial number only. If it were me, I think my next question is: does the CD install Moho 9.0 or Moho 9.5? IMO, there's a big difference between these versions, and Moho 9.5 was when I started taking Moho seriously as a professional animation tool.

As mentioned earlier, regardless of which version is on the disc, you'll be stuck with that release and need to purchase the program again if you want to upgrade.

I still have a BeOS version 2.5 that I can install on an old PC laptop, does that count for Old versions haha. Best version evahhhh!!

Wow, BeOS! I haven't even thought of that OS in, what, decades? I think stored that memory in the backroom with NeXT.

Moho 2.5 is still working on BeOs! As of today.
But not on Haiku, unfortunately.

Unfortunately it is not possible to export the finished Moho-projects on Haiku (www.haiku-os.org) the successor of BeOs.
It would be good to have this problem solved which you find on Haiku's bug tracker: https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/11974

Since Moho is back to its original creators, I hope there will be at least a little help to get at least the output of Moho working!

Until now Moho 2.5 for BeOs is closed source! We have tried to buy the original source code few years back!
The answer was they will ask for a million dollars to do so! What arrogant guys that time!
We hope to get in contact with the new/original owner of Moho!

The developer of Haiku are very thankful for getting some help to make that little piece of historic software work again on Haiku!
