I'm actually excited about Moho again, I may upgrade now as I never did last time around, those bitmap brushes takes things to a new level.

If you're still using ASP 11, you're definitely going to like upgrading to Moho 13. IMO, Moho 12 by itself was a huge leap forward.

Yeah, if you skipped v12, upgrading to v13 is a no-brainer. You're basically paying half for the new features in v12 and half for the new features in v13, instead of full upgrade price for both.

I guess if your a FBF animator although I don't see any advantage to using MOHO then to say Grease Pencil. Coming from a 3d background the reason why MOHO caught my eye in the first place was because of its 2d rigging and interpolation.

I agree that 2D-rigging and Smart Bone Actions continue to be Moho's greatest strength. I use a number of 2D and 3D packages at work, and Moho still covers this specific area more successfully.

But in my opinion, the bitmap tools in Moho 13 are useful for a lot more than FBF. For me, the tools largely replace having to jump into a third-party program to create freehand and textured elements. For example, the bitmap character art we used in Puss in Boots, King Julien and Dawn of the Croods had to be painted in Photoshop. As I adopted more hybrid vector/bitmap techniques (as seen in the PIB Interactive episode or the 'Thighsander Plunderhorse' segments,) the desire for a native paint system grew even stronger. Moho 13's new bitmap tools begin to address this, and I see the FBF part as kind of a bonus. :)

That said, sometimes I do need to insert short bitmap FBF sequences to a scene or as part of a character rig, and having native bitmap FBF tools makes the process simpler. ATM, I need to hop into Harmony (at work) or TVPaint (at home) to create FBF elements for Moho projects, but I can see Moho 13's FBF system gradually taking over the process as the Davit's Team Moho continues improves it.

Hm, I am currently testing Moho13 the trial file and it appears to me that only ONE texture can be applied to an obj. Not several.
Am I right?
Also it does not seem to support already assignend mtl files - Moho 12 does.
So I am not sure we really had an enhancement, here.
Or maybe did I just not doscover how to?

159? I saw the upgrade price at 329. Maybe the page update glitched for me. I'm glad I came here. I see it now. My phone didn't present the pricing as a dropdown for choices regarding upgrades for some unknown reason. I was pretty mad at moho all day, figuring they were essentially demanding their 12 users to repurchase the entire program all over again, calling 70 bucks off a "Deal" as we repurchase everything we already owned + 3 new features. 159 is fair. BRB, deleting a tweet.

Smith Micro re: cloud connection mandatory in MOHO 13 wrote: You have a choice between online and offline activation. You will have a seven-day grace period before activation becomes mandatory.

If you perform an online activation, Moho will require an activation refresh every 45 days. If you’re connected to the internet, this refresh will be done automatically. If you’re not connected to the internet at the refresh point, you will have a seven-day grace period before the refresh becomes mandatory. If you choose to do an offline (“manual”) activation, Moho will require an activation refresh every 180 days and you will have a seven-day grace period to perform this manual refresh.

During any seven-day grace period, you will only be able to use the Moho Debut feature set.
I usually don't have a problem with a one time activation but having my software send information back and forth periodically is usually something I try to avoid. :(

Im happy to see that you can import 3d object better than before, and lighting aspect of it. But sad to see the poser import is gone. Is it possible to get them working using the Moho 12 script for poser import?

I was told it was a licence issue. Poser and the raster to vector trace is gone because of it.

I just tried to import a poser 11 file into 13 by using 12. doesn't work.

I went through the process to pay for Moho 13, with PayPal, but no email confirmation or product. Is this normal for SmithMicro?
