When trying to install my upgrade today (which includes adding your license key/serial number) I keep getting a message saying "you have not entered a valid previous version serial number".
So I thought "oops, did i not register my previous version (Anime Studio Pro 11) serial number?" So I re-registered the previous version, assuming I forgot.
New message: "It appears that the license key ******* is already registered with SmithMicro." So I didn't forget.
(deep breath)
I'm at a loss. What am I missing?
Thx

If you're copying it, try typing it in instead. And I believe any 0's are zeroes.

Re: activating Moho 12
Thanks, Wes.
Sorry, I should have included in my original post that I did type as well as paste.
I c/p the serial number from the Smith Micro registration verification email to notepad to insure I had the current number for pasting and typing. No worky. =[
I guess I'll be waiting for a response from my email to Customer Support.
It must be some conflict in my account.

I had the same problem when I upgraded. I tried to fix it too, but don't think I did.
A few hours later, when I re-checked to see if it was registered yet, it was registered. I'm guessing it took a while for the serial number to be verified.

Thanks, Hoptoad.
But it's still happening today.
Hopefully Customer Support can sort this out. #frustrating

Re: activating Moho 12
I suspect I've missed the point and this is probably not what you were talking about, but I noted that when activating upgrades (as opposed to minor updates or completely new licenses) you have to put in both the new (upgrade) serial number and the serial number for the previous version that you were upgrading from (so, for example, both the Moho 12 serial number and the Anime Studio 11 serial number). Registration or not didn't seem to be relevant to this process.
Only putting in the new number and leaving out the previous version number when I first tried to activate the new version also gave me the "you have not entered a valid previous version serial number" message.
