Hi I'm erey! Nice to finally meet you all, I am the new Social Media Specialist for Smith Micro!
I'd love to see all of the great work you guys are producing with Anime Studio. Please share your work with me on Twitter, (don't forget to always use our #AnimeStudio hash tag when posting), Facebook, Vimeo and of course YouTube.
We've got some new content up on the blog. Check out how the Cowly Owl team used Anime Studio and Unity to make their new children's game "Monster Mingle."
Any of you currently working on making a game with Anime Studio?
Are you using Anime Studio to make games?

Re: Are you using Anime Studio to make games?
I'm just getting started with AS Pro (but a LONGTIME Manga Studio user). So I'm no where near even thinking about using it for games.
Anyhow, I mostly just wanted to help you out with the blog link. I think you copied it from a preview, here's the working link:

Checking it out right now.

Re: Are you using Anime Studio to make games?
I hope to eventually use ASP to export characters for game content. At this time, I'm trying to get my head wrapped around how all this works.
I was watching a tutorial last night which said that "export FBX" may not work with vector graphics. If I Import Poser characters to ASP and use them to build action scenes, will Poser animations export to FBX correctly from the Anime Studio environment? (I didn't see an export to FBX option in Poser, or I'd just do it there)

FBX export will not export vector art. It exports PNGs. Part of this reason is that we geared it towards Unity import and Unity doesn't import vector files. Certain advanced rigging features of Anime Studio are not supported in FBX or Unity, so depending on what you do, you may need to export as an image sequence and use that in your game. There is an FBX preview in Anime Studio Pro that will show you what your scene will look like in FBX export. Definitely utilize this before you put a bunch of time into something that may not work in FBX.PatMarr wrote:I hope to eventually use ASP to export characters for game content. FBX export will not export Imported obj or Poser scenes. One option here could be to use Layer Comps in Anime Studio Pro and export the Poser Animation as its own image sequence. Import this image sequence into Unity and combine with the exported Anime Studio art. Another option is using the FBX export from Poser Game Dev and bring that into your Environment. It might be challenging to align elements individually though..
Good luck and Happy animating.

Thanks Jason! You just saved me from wasting a lot of time running down rabbit trails!
Next question: can you direct me to any tutorials that demonstrate the animation techniques that are required for FBX export? I've been searching, and either there isn't much out there, or I don't know what keywords to search for.

Hi
I was trying to use ASP 10.1 for to export FBX and then to use it in Unity, but when I export to FBX, ASP dont export my "Smart bone" movement, for example, i animate a turn head, or a blink, but the FBX haven´t information about blibks or turn head, only the main vector of the head (front head) ... ASP dont export it or i am doing something wrong?

There's a thread here from a couple of years ago in the 'Other Software' forum where Selgin posted a mockup test using animations from Anime Studio and importing them into the game engine software Construct 2....
