Re: Automatic Tracking Camera Plugin for Moho
That's a very interesting tool. An equivalent tool doesn't exist for Moho, but I can see myself using one if it did...but only if I can still bake the camera motion and bring it into a compositing program. Thanks for sharing the link. I'll submit a suggestion to the developers. (I sometimes use Adob...

Re: Lip Sync setup
Some additional info: Moho's Switch Layer sets keyframes based on the child layer name (not order or id,) so I'm assuming the automated lipsync system does look for a specific naming structure. I've done a fair amount of lipsync animation in Moho but never used the auto-lipsync system. In my experie...

Re: Pin bones for Pupils
Here's another one: Manipulate Bones can also be used to move Target bones. Sorry, forgot about that one until I had to do it yesterday. So much of this is just muscle memory now.

Re: Only one Curver layer at a time?
It's possible to add a Curver layer to deform another Curver layer. Also, you can have many Curver splines inside a single Curver layer. For example... https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/gfmurcmtkavg1ld6zu1nu/CurversMultiple.gif?rlkey=hvc02j6mjpvh0nv04xzwt6gfv&raw=1 In the above, the two 'tiger arms...

Re: Underwater effect
The above works well enough when you only have Moho, but if you have a compositing program, I recommend using that instead. In a compositing program, you can adjust the effect interactively, without pre-baking the keys. You also have options for getting a more natural look, and you can animate the d...

Re: Underwater effect
Hello. I'm new here and also new to animation, and I have a question about the underwater effect. The goal is adding the effect like this video: A fractal pattern can be used to displace the pixels in an animation. The common and easiiest way to do this is to render out the Moho footage, and apply ...

Re: Select click and drag multiple layers in Sequencer
Sorry, I posted but then realized I misread the request and deleted my post. Nothing to see here. :) But, yeah, I just use a Group to move multiple layers...but I tend to use a lot of groups in my projects anyway, so that's just normal for me. Less clicking to do. That said, it seems like you should...

Re: Pin bones for Pupils
Manipulate Bones is for controlling IK, so it only rotates. Normally, you use this to pose the skeleton and work Smart Bone Dials. Oh, shoot, I meant to add that there is one exception with Manipulate Bones : if the bone is a root bone, then Manipulate bones will move it instead of rotating it. Thi...

Re: position-scale driver
I agree. Many years ago, I asked if we could get a UI construction kit in Moho, so we could use items other than bones for Smart Bone Action controls, like dials that look and work like actual knobs and levers, and also sliders, buttons, and user-defined lists. It would also be cool to have live ind...

Re: Pin bones for Pupils
Alternative eye rig? : if you have a better way to control the pupils, I am open to that too. Regarding this, I usually just have a regular bone for each pupil. Since I'm using Bind Layer, the shape of the bone doesn't matter, and regular bones are easier to grab than point bones. (Note to devs: I ...

Re: Pin bones for Pupils
This leads to a second question though. When I use the Manipulate Bones [Z] tool , it just offsets the bone from the geometry and leaves the geometry [pupil] behind even though it is bound to that bone. The pupil doesn't follow. Alternative eye rig? : if you have a better way to control the pupils,...

Re: Pin bones for Pupils
Manipulate Bones is for controlling IK, so it only rotates. Normally, you use this to pose the skeleton and work Smart Bone Dials. (Tip: you can switch this tool to FK mode by holding Alt, which is useful for posing arms.) To move a bone, you want to use Transform Bone. The shortcut is to tap T. To ...

Re: Eye rig- making lids invisible?
There are many ways to do this. Here are a handful of suggestions... - If the item is in its own layer, keyframe the layer's visibility. This is what I usually do. - If the item is in the same layer as the rest of the eye, keyframe the alpha for the Style. - Enable Animated Shape Order and hide the ...

Re: Best way to pass an object from one character to another character
I agree with SlowTiger. That's the easiest and most controllable way to do it in Moho.
If the first character is tossing it in the air, you may want to make a third object so its motion path isn't affected until it's 'caught' by the second character.
