Re: Bone flip deforms artwork

Bezier curves aren't actually buggy, they're behaving exactly as expected. They're great work drawing shapes with fewer points and greater accuracy but they're somewhat unpredictable for interpolation and deformation. Back when Mike Clifton implemented Bezier handles in Moho, he posted a video that ...

Re: Dropbox, Here's how to do it: 1. In the online DropBox page for the image, select the image and create a link for it. Copy the link. 2. In the forum's post editing window, click the picture link icon button and replace the text 'Image URL' with the DropBox link. 3. Here's the important part: Cha...

Re: Moho's future

I'd also like to see a native equivalent of MQC, the on-screen button panel I made for Moho. Other paint/animation programs have user-customizable panels where you can add clickable buttons for almost any available command, script, or tools. (Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Toon Boom, and Painter come...

Re: Moho's future

I think there are still alot of things that could get Moho better. Think of a reliable vector drawing engine. Constructing characters in Moho is okay, importing bitmap characters is okay. But native drawing in Moho would be great (and I don't mean this weird drawing stuff in M13). This would be gro...

Re: Moho's future

Do you guys think it will still exist for some time? How close is it to become an industry standard? Re: 'industry standard', it's being used at two major animation studios that I'm aware of. Where I work, we use Moho Pro 12.5 for sequences in our TV shows on Netflix and other streaming channels. Y...

Re: Is it bad practice to scale layers at frame 0?

I generally leave artwork layers at their original size on frame zero and scale the contained vector artwork instead. By keeping the layers themselves at 100%, animating and modifying the rig is more predictable. Understandably, it may not seem practical to do this for many vector layers. In this ca...

Re: Stop layer translation affecting bone dynamics

I avoid using bone dynamics for hair. To me, hair with bone dynamics never looks as good or as convincing as keyframed hair bones. If you want to automate hair animation, I suggest using a Smart Bone Action with some added keyframed animation as needed. Usually I have the SBA animate the broad motio...

Re: Opacity of colours not retained in files opened on a different laptop.

I would definitely check what Wes mentioned. Tip: In case the issue is that styles have actually changed to full opacity, in the future you might consider using a custom style for semi-transparent items. This way, if the style on many items changes accidentally, you can easily change them all back t...

Re: Clip Studio Paint exports SVG now

I wasn't aware of that. I normally draw all my comics using Clip Studio Paint's vector tools so I'll give it a try sometime. My one concern is that CSP's vector tools generate an awful lot of points because the tool is designed for precision and editability, and it's not optimized for animation. But...

Re: Drawing Tablet problem with Moho

I don't even bother with Freehand or Blob brush anymore. They're just too frustrating to use. FWIW, the tools do behave more predictably with a genuine Wacom device but it's still not reliable enough for serious work. When I draw vector graphics in Moho, I only use the Add Points and Shapes tools. T...

so the PNG export does not work in the render, same as video ----does this mean i would have to control R for preview and render out each frame as PNG individually? Just use Moho Exporter; set it to PNG Image Sequence and this will render final quality frames of your entire animation in the i...

Re: animating a tail smoothly

Good shout! I tried that and I still get big deformations What Maestral said about auto-triangulation might be the cause of what you're seeing. Moho's internally generated meshes tend to be low-res. When I see faceting in my deformations, I create my own mesh. you can do this using the Grid tool wi...

Re: animating a tail smoothly

I always use Sketch Bones for tail animation. If you watch either of my two DreamWorks Animation reels and see a 2D character with a tail, that's animated using Sketch Bones. Tip 1: When animating a tail, sketch from the root to this tip for ever keyframe you create. This insures that the interpolat...

Re: Maintain the volume of an object

Or... You can bind the shape or layer to a bone and use the bone to give it a 'squash and stretch' effect. To do this, select the Bone with the Select Bone tool and then open the Bone Constraints panel. Next, enable Squash And Stretch Scaling. To see the effect, you need to be on an animation frame ...

Re: Maintain the volume of an object

Note that Transform Layer behaves differently: - Drag from corner, scales uniformly from origin - Drag from side, scales symmetrically from origin - Press Shift while dragging from corner, scales non-uniformly from origin - Press Shift while dragging side maintains volume (i.e., squash and stretch.)...
