Re: Why do bones make imported body parts (images, not vectors) distort?

...there is no option to layer bind or for that matter there's no choice to flexi or point bind. Could it be because I am adding bones to image as opposed to vector layers? Point Binding is available for Vertex layers only...but you can triangulate the Vertex layer and apply it as a Smart Warp laye...

Re: What is this blue trail?

Sorry, that doesn't sound familiar. Is this in Moho 13 or earlier?

Make a screen cap the next time you see it and post it.

Re: moho 13.0.2 crushed

Have you tried the Export As Previous Version command in Moho 13? This should work. A while back, I used it to export a troublesome Moho 13 project to open in Moho 12. I lost certain Moho-13 specific features like Action Groups of course but after making a few adjustments, the project worked fine in...

Ha, ha! I'm not 60 but I think I'm following that same trajectory. (I'm grumpier in person.) :)

Re: Pano Painter, an Interesting program.

Cool! Glad they got you up and running. Re: Affinity, I didn't know it could do that. Photoshop CC has this feature too (3D > Spherical Panorama,) which is what I use at my work to paint/edit panoramic images. I guess this is more common than I thought. But Pano Painter is much more affordable and I...

Re: Pano Painter, an Interesting program.

Tried importing the test obj directly into Moho 13 this time. The materials do not automatically come into Moho with the object but it's easy to set up. 1. Import the obj. It will be added to a 3D layer. 2. Open the Material tab in the Layer Settings window for the 3D layer. 3. Select the material w...

Re: Pano Painter, an Interesting program.

That's awesome! And glad to hear the 'spherical environment' trick works in ASP 11. Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear Pano Painter is crashing for you. It doesn't crash on my laptop but the OS is Win 10 and I purchased from Steam. I have seen a few refresh glitches though. I'm going to try working i...

Re: Pano Painter, an Interesting program.

Ok, one more note: When I did the original test shown above, the camera was at Moho's default Z position. I think this causes the edges to warp like a fish eye lens. The steps for centering the camera and adjusting the lens should eliminate the warping effect.

Re: Pano Painter, an Interesting program.

One more note: I did the above test in Moho 12, not ASP 11, so I'm not sure it will work there. For Moho 13, I just opened the Moho 12 file and re-saved it as a Moho 13 file. Since Moho 13 has a different 3D engine, I'll have to check later if this effect can be created directly inside Moho 13 witho...

Re: Pano Painter, an Interesting program.

It's essentially the setup described earlier: I imported a sphere with flipped polygon surfaces (facing inward.) The sphere has a spherical UV map that wraps the applied texture inside. I'll make a proper tutorial later but here's a quick list of steps: 1. In a 3D program, create a sphere with a sph...

Re: Pano Painter, an Interesting program.

Oh, cool! I got it working in Moho 12. This is a stock 360 image I found online mapped to the inside of a sphere...and it works! https://www.dropbox.com/s/c3t9k7qg1o2trfv/MohoPanoTest.gif?raw=1 It also works well with the 'crappy landscape' painting I created with Pano Painter but I won't be showing...

Re: Pano Painter, an Interesting program.

I played around with Pano Painter last night. The UI is a bit clunky but I have to confess it's fun to play with. And, hey, it was only 2 bucks! I don't have anything worth showing yet (except a really crappy landscape painting that I'll be deleting,) but next I'll attempt something I won't be embar...

Re: 360º Smartbones using cycles

I think have a few tricks for working with nested Smart Bones but I can't recall them at the moment. I'll dig into my notes later and see what turns up. It seems like I once used target bones to keep nested Smart bones 'active' in the timeline, or something like that. Let me see if I can track down ...

Re: 360º Smartbones using cycles

When nesting Smart Bones, I think you can only go one additional layer deep. I wish that wasn't a limitation but, TBH, it really hasn't been a showstopper for me, and I've built a lot of very complex character rigs for the TV shows at my workplace. In general, I try not to put too much animation int...

Re: 360º Smartbones using cycles

I don't know if I understood this. I tried to follow the steps and did this: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiyKCw6Xey5TgY9BZE10RZjmgKtRIA But I don't understand the advantage over using only one bone and one action like on the other file. For me, it's simpler to setup, modify, and animate a turn this way. Th...
