Thanks Vern and Mike: I see what you mean. So, with all bugs and such, this would be the procedure: 1. On frame 0, set up all layers as children of bone (or group) layers. 2. Animate everything as though layer order did not matter, (don't change the order of any layers) 3. When you are satisfied wit...

Glad to Hear News From Mike Clifton Well, if Mike has been hired for full time development on Anime Studio, then I take back all of my doubts and misapprehensions. I have always liked the program and the speed with which one person can produce high quality animation. I guess we'll have to start a n...

Animate Bone Layer Order?

I've watched videos showing how this is now possible in Anime Studio, but I cannot make it work with the demo version of Anime Studio Pro. And there is nothing in the manual describing how to do this seemingly simple process. Can someone please post a short "step-by-step" tutorial on how t...

Human: I'm afraid I haven't experimented with morphing yet. I'm sure you can use reference footage applied frame-by-frame, for rotoscoping - and that you could pick key frames from that reference footage to add, on another layer, rotoscoped morphing keyframes, (thus saving you inbetweening time). An...

MKelly: You're right, they are not real bones, as found in Anime Studio, but simply giving IK functionality to a hierarchy of "cutout" shapes. They don't deform via envelopes, like in AS. And, you're also right, setting up characters in ToonBoom Animate is work, as in work . It doesn't fee...

Human: I've downloaded Animate for my NVIDIA powered desktop machine and my Fujitsu, non-NVIDIA tablet PC, and it works on both. Although I have not thoroughly tested every aspect on my Tablet PC. From past experience with ToonBoom products, Animate is much more intuitive, but much more "proced...

I'm using a Samsung Ultra Mobile PC, which has the same "too slick" quality of stylus on screen. This causes me to draw with far too many "jitters" when using art tools, especially the pencil in applications like FlipBook and Pencil. What I have done to remedy the problem is to, ...

Heyvern: I upgraded my Mac version to AS Pro, but, when I saw it was just Moho with nothing new that I needed, I went back to using Moho on my newer PC laptop. It's fine. My main wish is for less screen clutter - therefore the expressed desire for combining tools. I haven't looked into just how many...

Human: Very salient points, all of them. As far as an artist, trying to make a living, the daylights were scared out of me many years ago. I don't even want or plan to try to compete with McDoogles or Kernal Tuckies, and I surely don't want to work for any of them. But I do plan to eat every day, if...

I think audiences are also tiring of that special "3D" look. You have to go to great lengths to produce a look, when working with a 3D app, that either looks 2D or provides a unique "handmade" feel. All the 3D hits I have seen make me real tired after 2 hours - I don't have that ...

Jahnocli: Yes, by hand is the straightest path, but how many animators, even the best of the best, ever have the time and endurance, on their own, using this process, to finish even a modest short of notable calibre? The machine we are sitting in front of was supposed to render the process substanti...

Have You Switched to 2D for Reasons of Simplicity?

I keep flirting with creating animation only in the "2D" format, primarily because I am tired out from using complex, cumbersome, overly technical 3D animation software. There just isn't a streamlined pipeline in existence that gives the average person the freedom and, more importantly, th...

Forgot To Download My Windows Upgrade, (Got Mac)

I'm afraid I missed the deadline to upgrade free to Anime Studio for Windows. I forgot that the Moho license was for both platforms, Mac and PC, so I only downloaded the Mac upgrade. Now I'm on my PC laptop and I need the PC version of Anime Studio. Is it too late for me?

Thanks,

Visual Stlyle Palette

I'll throw in my 2 cents for a feature I would love to see in Moho, possibly made by independent programmers: A visual palette for styles . . . in other words, a way to display, in rendered form, what a style actually "looks like". Then, there should be an extremely simple way to select a ...

Mr. Marble: Thanks for this most excellent tip. I have to tell you, that though I never used the very early versions of Moho, I liked the "Style" palette when it was simpler. It has been the hardest part, for me, of learning Moho. I actually created a default, visual "Style" temp...
