Re: Help Shape the Future of Anime Studio

A little over a month ago there was some discussion on how Anime Studio might improve support for Tablet PCs such as Windows Surface Pro and Cintiq Companion. That's a subject I'm interested in and it got me thinking. So I decided to put together a little animation on some of my ideas. My primary fo...

Re: My New Superhero cartoon!

Really good John :D I definitely enjoyed it. The interaction between Mosquito Ghost and Impact was very entertaining. Of the story the only thing that I missed a little was the sound of the arc at the end and a little of the uniqueness of the arc to defeat the foe at the end. Thanks also for sharing...

Frame By Frame for Planning

I was working on a music video and had a sequence that was tough for me. It was a side flip. I used to be a gymnast and so I wanted to try to make it look realistic. I thought it would be cool to use the new Frame by Frame feature of AS Pro 11 to plan it out. Here's a quick little illustration of it...

Re: Transition from Toon Boom to Anime Studio 11?

I'll throw in some thoughts from the more novice/hobbyist end. - I started in animation with Toon Boom about 3 years ago (I had version 5 without bones or bitmaps (you could import)). - I initially actually avoided Anime Studio, because the box cover art ( I think it was the animeBoy) made me think ...

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

I definitely wouldn't get a tablet for AS. I agree that for animation it's very tough (I use it for that only in a pinch). I think the most likely use would be FBF for a draft layer (storyboard might be a good use if you want to be portable) since you can turn off the timeline and still access the F...

Re: Switch layer point position and smart bones AS11 (cachin

Thanks for the reply. That's actually a reduced file from my original trying to find the problem. I must have done something wrong when reducing the file and uploading. Don't know how I missed that. So I've uploaded again (ie replaced the old file today) with the bone rotation corrected, but the pro...

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

One thing I want to make sure willf is clear on, and it seems like you are, but just trying to help be sure, is the difference between a tablet and a tablet monitor (or drawing monitor). I've gone through all of the stages over the years, pencil drawings scanned in and then inked and colored, bamboo...

Re: Switch layer point position and smart bones AS11 (cachin

Here's a link to the file http://www.mediafire.com/download/svi4ra4p62ari64/switchLayerProblems.anime The problem does not occur every time I click on a switch layer in an action timeline. If it looks ok in head turn, for example, I double click on head turn2, then start clicking on mouth style swit...

Re: Switch layer point position and smart bones AS11 (cachin

Unfortunately I'm not sure how to upload the anime file. I don't see anything allowing me to attach a file. I do have a github account, don't know if that would work. I don't have a website or anything like that.

Switch layer point position and smart bones AS11 (caching?)

I'm trying to see if this is a bug or some non-obvious interaction and if anyone else has seen this. It looks like a caching bug. Problem: Points in switch layers seem to be cached to the opposite smart bone action. Steps to reproduce: - create switch layers for mouth positions - create a head turn ...

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

By the way, did you do Crustacea in Anime Studio 10? I was answering another question and realized that when I tried to find a link to it. It's beautiful!

Re: Help me, I am 100% new to digital work

I know nothing about digital art. Hi Happy Hare. I'm betting you'll get lots of good ideas from the folks on line. But let me start out with basic context info, rather than how to's, which will surely follow. First you want to realize that there are three basic types of digital artwork, but they ca...
