FBF to Create Moving Storyboards in AS Pro 11
The idea of using Anime Studio for creating storyboards is one I've been thinking about for a while. I've thought of using characters I've created and just posing them in scenes using step interpolation. I think that can work great if I already have rigged characters and potentially backgrounds as w...

Re: Do's and Don't for best PSD updating?
Quick update. It seems that when Photoshop saves .psd everything is fine (at least for Elements 10). That's so sad, because I really want to support Smith Micro with Manga Studio and Anime Studio. Anyway, I've sent a note the to tech support team to see if there's something I'm doing wrong, or...

Do's and Don't for best PSD updating?
Has anyone compiled a list of best practice do's and don'ts for .psd file upating. The doc states However, the live link may work unexpectedly after importing into Anime Studio if you later move, delete, or hide layers in Photoshop and then return to Anime Studio. So even though it also states If la...

Re: New Script to reorder FBF layers
... I think it should be called 'OCD alleviation script'  I'm glad it's helpful. I love the fact that AS is making strides at better integration of drawing and bones (FBF of course, but drawing in general too). I also love the help that everyone on the forum gives, so I hope this is hel...

Re: Help Shape the Future of Anime Studio
Bind multiple layers to a bone at once. I don't think you can do this currently, please correct me if I'm wrong. I've had some trouble with using smart bones to rig faces if I bind the group layer to the head bone. http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=27407&hilit=+head#p155096...

Re: ASP11 How to use Frame by Frame with layers and masking
I thought the ideas of renaming/reordering the layers in FBF were interesting and I wanted to learn more about Anime Studio API and lua (I'm a programmer, but only did a little AS scripting before) so I created a script for reordering the FBF layers. Hope you find it helpful. I know I'm going to enj...

New Script to reorder FBF layers
In the Frame By Frame discussion http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=27514#p155715 there was discussion on FBF layer naming/numbering, in particular with the fact that in betweens don't have a number "in between" the initial key frames. I was wanting to learn more about...

Re: why this change in drawing from 10 to 11?
you should see points with point editing tools but they will be hidden with bone editing tools It is true that points are hidden if you have the bone layer selected, but I think the situation medic5678 is talking about is trying to edit/transform points in a vector layer that's a child of a bone la...

Re: Daily routine
As heavy as the above « switch layer method » may be however, it at least gives you control of every separate element and allows you to modify a sequence without having to redo it entirely. I now see it as a kind of comical / herculean transition between the old-school, « lightboard method » and th...

Re: Can you hide and position windows through scripts?
Thanks synthsin, that's what I was afraid of. I was going to try to write a script to access custom layouts, especially for tablet usage, but... I guess not. The Win+ didn't seem to work on my Surface Pro (brings up a zoom interface), but I did a search, based on your idea and found that back tic (`...

Re: Daily routine
cableon, I love the look of your work, especially the washing machine skit :D For the tall guy's blink did you do that as separate layers and control with bones, or was the blink a set of separate drawings? Do you use a light box for your drawings (just curious)? Sounds like, at least for newer char...

Can you hide and position windows through scripts?
Does anyone know a way to hide/show windows (ie the layers, tools, timeline, style) via scripts? Alternatively can short cut keys be called from a script (ie Ctrl+Shift+E hides/shows the Tools window, so if I can't hide/show the window directly can I call the short cut key). I'd also like to be able...

Re: why this change in drawing from 10 to 11?
Thanks medic and Victor. I ran into this same issue, in a different way. I was doing Frame by Frame. I didn't want to see all the points, because I was thinking more like bitmap art to get in the flow of sketching out a plan of animation. So I switched off the paths. However, when I switched to the ...

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM
The discussion on alternatives to WACOM made me think through some of the ideas I had specifically with respect to Tablets, so I made a video on a few potential (and hopefully not to difficult) changes to AS that might make the Windows Surface Pro a nice approach for portable Pen Tablets. I think so...
