Vern asked how big you image sizes were. We do a lot of cut out animation and the size of the images slows down the timeline a lot. It's best to set up all you shots as you need them. Keeping images sizes small. Also, and you may not want to hear this - sometimes a software has a major flaw and unfo...

@ Baterfield Yes, Williams' book is a gold resource that covers absolutely everything you need to know about timing, weight, motion, lipsync. If no one has it who's reading this thread then you need to get it now! (or we won't publish our book - heheh) The book plans to cover everything that we've ...

from what I gather, the book was to be an 'art of' book also. including behind the scenes stuff and moho files. a pretty lush book. As gk said, all their techniques are from the tutorals that come with as. they do build a lot of models though, I think one scene from their new show had 14. that's of...

Good lord! I didn't realise everyone was so blood thirsty for a book from us! You know, we learnt from the tutorials, there's nothing special in what we do - we don't have any super secrets (other than we're all lizard people from the planet Gob) It's really flattering to hear everyone speak about o...

Thanks Blacksun, I must say that the book we were writing fell through at the last hurdle, the publisher just didn't couldn't give us a fair enough deal. We were going to feature a chapter on La Reine Soleil and include tutorial models and rigged animation. Its a shame that they couldn't see the pot...

It sounds overly complicated to me. Good luck. I'll look forward to seeing it at the end. Its not overly complicated at all. In fact it is a very profession way of managing a project. Everything contained in one space for the benefit of everyone else. The last thing you need are bits and pieces all...

I don't think it would prove too intimidating, as artists I'm sure everyone on this forum would step up to the challenge. Also if people couldn't see the animation it may turn out to be some incoherent mess - though I'm sure Picasso or Pollock might approve of that!

Somethings happening...

Hi Guys, It's been an absolute lifetime since I have been able to come online and even post the briefest of messages - that could be seen as a good thing! We've been so busy for the last 8 months with a whole load of things. I'm pleased to say that we'll have some more work to show you guys shortly....

How about a string of you guys working together one after the other. What I mean by this is that a character is designed and a model built. Then 1 animator starts off his/her few seconds and leaves it open ended - you can do anything - then the animation file is passed onto the next animator to add ...

can it be done with another software? I'm thinking After Effects maybe...

sorry for being so insistent, but this is my only complain in AS, the motion blur being more like a ghost shadow or something

Hey, this is something kinda trite but I was wondering... how do you guys layer, or more accurately affect, your shadow layer on your characters? Is it on its own layer and then masked by the color layer, in other words, are there three layers (line, shadow, then color in descending order), or is i...

How much do you charge, how do you protect yourself, how do you go about acquiring a contract, and do you submit deadlines and schedules, and what's the deal with character licensing? Thanks, Mike Fees can change depending on the style of animation, amount of work, quality of the animation, whether...
