Batch search-and-replace of a bunch of text files can be done with many applications. On the Mac I use BBEdit for that purpose.

Just some points from another experienced user: I use Freehand, haven't ever touched Illustrator. I even use Freehand v5.0.1 which is stone-age compared to actual versions. If I want to create graphics which need accuracy, I construct them in Freehand. If I want hand drawings, I do them on paper (wi...

Answer for #2: double-click the vector layer and then "Vectors". "Noisy Outlines" is an option which lets your lines wiggle at random from frame to frame. Experiment with diofferent setting. Note: this effect is lost when exported to .swf, it only works with bitmapped output.

Moho crashes while exporting to Quicktime

Moho 5.4 on a G5 dual 1.8 GHz PPC, OS 10.4.7 with QT 7.1.2 The crash occurs every time when I try to export animation to a quicktime movie, no matter which codec I choose or how many frames or at which frame I start exporting. It doesn't matter which moho file I use. Export to swf works. Export to P...

I can just but repeat myself: no professional does his work with only one tool. Different tasks ask for different tools, and while some tasks may be done with any tool more or less satisfying, others profit a great deal from specialised tools. If studios rely on only one tool, they decided to live w...

Snce you use several programs, mistakes can occur everywhere. In Moho: check that there is no background in your scene. Export as flashfile as usual. In Flash: don't add a background. In the "Export" panel, check "transparent". That should be all that's necessary. With the above ...

There's a new version out? I didn't even know!
I'll test it later, fortunately I have both Mac OS 10.4.7 and 10.4.6 available.

I had a look at the logo (nice one), here's my ideas: Think of a real bird. Each of its legs consists of at least 4 parts: foot (toe & tarsus), lower leg (tibia), upper leg - which is hidden in the body. Now the bones in Moho are invisible ... so you can make a setup with more bones than visible...

http://www.nexusproductions.com/main.html is one of my favourite sites. Although they do advertising and videoclips only, I think they collect some of the best talents in industry. Their style is "contemporary" in the best meaning of the word. Unfortunately they changed their format from ...

You can save images with an alpha channel as PNG and import them into Moho. Works like a charm. You can't import just the alpha channel - for something like this you need a pixel-based compositing program like After Effects.

Try this: after creating whatever artwork you need, select all in that layer, cou it (x) and paste it again. If the red dot appears in the layer list, it is optimized.

"Rabbit"

"Rabbit" is an eery film, quite gory, and has won several awards. The whole animation could have been done in moho and is a good example of what is possible in cutout style.
