Disney: Emperor's New Groove
I worry that mentioning Disney will reignite the old "Walt: Was He a Money-Grubbing Pervert?" discussion. But... If you want to see a Disney film that has both wonderful animation and a really funny script, check out "The Emperor's New Groove." Mark Dindal, the director, does his...
Re: Speaking of Flash animation
Do you really want to do stuff that's just good enough? I don't think you should orient the quality of your work towards the lowest common denominator... You know, I think the thing that I'm reacting to is the way you're painting a tremendous amount of work with a single brush. It's like me saying ...
And I don't even believe it's necessary. Cartoon Cartoon has proven that the simple limited animation pioneered by Asian animation (and imitated by many others like Bullwinkle) can connect with a Western audience. Totally agree. Bullwinkle has a spot in many people's heart that is totally unrelated...
Of course the recent Disney stuff isn't all that great either, but I really am fed up with watching Japanese animation movies in Japanese and still the lips of the characters just move randomly and do not sync up a bit. I'm sick of having most of the characters scream all of the time in a high pitc...

Re: maybe you dont get it...
there are nodes on the time line everytime you animate a bone see? but when you translate the whole layer there's no node in the time line... only a line in the main workspace wich tells you where the character has been. Hmm... There are channels on the timeline for controlling layer translation, r...

Re: i cant see it...
By the way, the Help files will also tell you what all the cryptic icons down the left side of the timeline are all about. When you find that page in the Help, bookmark it so you can refer back to it quickly. Once you've done some successful animation, you won't need that page anymore. But it'll do ...

Re: i cant see it...
do you mind being a bit more detailed? i cant see the translation points in the timeline so if i make a mistake i cant do anything to rectify..... Hey, Lost Marble! How about a tutorial called "Moho for Flash Users"? It would come in very handy, since Moho looks like Flash but actually wo...

Re: flip and the translate tool.
i gather there's a V. 5? Yes. It's in Beta right now. The only problem you'll have is that there still are hardly any documentation files with it, so you're on your own. anyway if you want to move a character... you use bones correct? how come the movement or translation doea dot appear in the time...

Re: Tablet PC is THE way to go...
I use a tablet PC A fujitsu 3400 ( $300 on ebay). Man, using a tablet PC is THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!! Isn't this one of Fujitsu's older models? I recall wondering if they were powerful enough to run current PC applications. (Though I'd guess that Moho would perform well, given its small footprint.) How...

Yeah, it would be cool if you could simply drag a layer up in the timeline while holding a modifier key, and it split somehow. Though my eyes start to cross when I think about how you actually represent that in the user interface. Right now, I believe you can do something very much like that by adju...

Re: SWF Importer instead of Frame by Frame
It seems to me that it work make more sense to do that in another app like ToomBoom, which is great for Frame by Frame, but damn near sucks with everthing else. I've tried TB twice now and given up both times. TB and I just don't think about things the same way. I could use Flash, which I have a lo...
