moho 5 beta 4: bug report - AA edges seem to be large in avi

I've noticed in almost every single animation I've done that when you render out an avi with anti-alias edges turned on the anti-alias settings seem to make the lines bigger. if I turn AA off the lines are nice, and slim but doesn't look as nice.

I'll post some examples in a moment.

Here they are

AA

NO AA

They are 1 frame avi's to keep it small and simple.

It's not much of a problem when you're working on big things, but when you're working on small scale animations the lines look quite HUGE when you get the final movie rendered.

You can get thinner lines if you turn off "Scale compensation" in the Layer Settings dialog for the vector layer in question. Or, if you want to use scale compensation, but want a thinner line, try using a shade of gray instead of black to make the lines look thinner.

okay thanx.

BTW, what does it mean by Scale compensation?

I'm not familiar with this option.

When scale compensation is on, lines get thinner or thicker when you scale a layer or move the camera closer or further away. Sometimes you want this effect, sometimes you don't. When scale compensation is turned off, a different algorithm is used to draw lines that can draw thinner lines.

Scale compensation also applies to layer effects: layer shadow/shading and layer blur
