How do I change part of the stroke color?

Post by cherrytomato »

Hi, I try to get the top stroke color different from the side, like below. It's lineless, but some parts have line color. I tried deleteing the strokes to get the lineless result, but the color stroke longer than the fill part.
Does anyone know if moho can achieve this style?

If I understand what you're asking for, you need to make a different shape for the stroke you want to apply a different style to.

1. Hide the existing stroke by selecting the shape and then unchecking Stroke in the style.
2. Select the points that will make the segment for a stroke in one color.
3. Create a new Stroke using Create Shape with Stroke selected.
4. Repeat 3 for each segment.

You can now apply a different color style to each stroke shape.

(Yikes! I feel like I just made a logo for Google!)

Additional info: Because each segment is its own shape, you can apply different properties to each shape, like different line thicknesses and effects.

Everything in the above is a different style applied to each shape. The purple line around all of the segments is a layer border effect.

Hope this helps, but if that's not what you're asking, need more info.

This is maybe the only feature the old Animo software had which is not present in Moho (in any other respect Moho has succeeded it). (Animo? Cambridge Animation Software, I was there in 1993 to beta-test it.)

In Animo each point in an outline could not only have a different colour, but a complete gradient with more than 2 stops. Just imagine the FX possibilities of this ...

:o

I never could really get to play with it, but for what I could see (around 2000s), its vector system had to be incredibly precise and powerful...
