Unless you need part of the rig isolated, it just ends up spreading your bone animation keyframes over multiple layers, instead of just one.

A bone layer within a bone layer could be a character (bone layer) in a vehicle (bone layer). Or a character that’s riding on the back of a horse (nested inside its bone layer).

I do this all the time to separate timing. A character walking - one bone layer - but then talk and gesticulate and moving its head - another bone layer, or even more. Saves me from accidentially grabbing the wrong keys.

hello Mr Markus . :)
Do you do this a lot? Would you - if your time permits - tell us about the advantages of this method? Even though there are 2 main timelines now...thank you
Decent people still here .. keep dreaming .
