Adjusting the position of bone labels

Post by Hoptoad »

Presently, a bone label shifts position when a bone is about to rotate over it, which makes total sense.
Nonetheless, I would like an option to adjust the location of a bone label, to move it into a location where it will stay put.

Also, sometimes I would like the bone labels to be lower or higher or lefter or righter than where it originally appears, purely for aesthetic reasons.

Thanks.

Yup, that's something I've been asking for for a long time.

I would like to see option for Bone Labels for keeping the current auto-positioning labels or switch to fixed-position labels with options for left, right, and center alignment. And it's not just for aesthetic reasons because this can make SBD 'panels' more readable than they are now.

True. True.

Labels are handy, but I often avoid using them unless they have a pleasant appearance in my workspace.

On your 2019 animation demo reel, there are labels stacked on labels of the cat warrior. People who are unfamiliar with Moho might assume they were stacked on purpose for some mysterious reason.

C'mon, LostMarble...be a pal. Make labels more useful. :D

Yes, that's a good example of where the 'auto position' fails for Bone Labels. The Bone Labels layout in that rig looks perfectly fine until I start using the SBDs.

At one point I started inserting my own static bone labels, but it's extra work that shouldn't be necessary and I gave up on it.

Yeh, I spent hours on a SBD this morning, and it works great.
There's nothing I would change. . .
Nothing.
Except for the label, which blinks left and right when I rotate the bone.
Sigh.
