Frame Rate and dimensions? 720 vs 1080 for Youtube?

Just wondering what most people use for their project settings? I knew all this stuff years ago animating in AS11, but have forgotten it all. I generally use Power Director as my editor then upload to youtube. Should I just use the default 24 FPS, or 29.97, or 30, or does it even really matter? And Should I set dimensions to 720 or 1080p just for uploading to youtube purposes? Or does anyone have a good youtube link explaining differences between selections of FPS or Dimension preferability? Thanks!

Go for 1080p (because we don't fret about file sizes and processor speed nowaydays) and 24 fps (because all timing examples from classic animation literature use it, and for commercial purposes this is the easiest to convert to other fps).

Re: frame size, back when I started using Moho, I had a tiny laptop with 4GB of RAM that handled 720p easily enough but could bog down when compositing 1080p footage. My second Moho project was a freelance gig that required 1080p and I had to finish that project on my desktop at home. My current laptop that handles 1080p much better so now I tend to work at that res. So, 1080p if your gear can handle it, but it's not a big deal to render 720p either...a lot of episodic CGI shows are still rendered at 720p for time and economic reasons.

Frame rate: Definitely 24 fps. IMO, there's not a lot of benefit from animating at a higher frame rate. The motions can look smoother but that's not always a desirable look for 2D animation.

For YouTube and Vimeo uploads, I've been using H.265 (aka HEVC) set to 10-bit. This uploads with the proper black levels and color without requiring any CC adjustments to the footage.

I have recently worked for TheSoul Publishing in shows like DUH, Teen-Z and Baby Zoo Story, all Youtube series and we always do them 25fps and 1080p but 720p and 24fps is fine as well.
