Jungle Plants

Post by bupaje »

Hi. I started working on some scenes for an animation I'd like to do. Figured I'd share some of the objects in case anyone finds them useful. This pack contains seven different jungle style plants you can use in your own animations. Each plant is on a single layer so you may have to find a point and use Select Connected to get at some of the shapes if you want to edit them but didn't seem to make sense to put each petal on a new layer as I sometimes do. :)

Here is a screen shot of the plants

Here it is

[In case you missed it you can upload original zipped Moho resources like scripts, backgrounds, reusable vector objects and example files that show how to accomplish a moho task to my site here http://www.stormvisions.com/dn1/upload/index.php The script works pretty well but if you get stuc let me know. You can find more info in this post http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3256]

Fooled around with this some more and here is my effort at the jungle scene so far.

Still need to add native huts, some bugs, a native or two and so on. I'll probably use LM's example and create a waterfall as well. Doubtful I'll actually finish this in time but who knows. :)

Feedback welcome.

I like the plants, but they need to be distributed a bit more randomly -- maybe use them as particles? The trees seem to be plonked onto the ground rther than growing up through it -- and they are all exactly the same height! Not sure about the bright green rim around some of the leaves either...

Hope this helps

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Thanks for the kind words and the suggestions. I took your advice jahnocli and changed the color on the one. They are particles but the trees are 'particle rafts' - 4 plants per particle layer. I was having some problem with clumping or bunching of plants when in the particle folder -you can see here.

I think I may have suggested it before but it might be useful to be able to add a 'weight' value to different vector images in a particle layer so that particle 1 has a 50% chance of being displayed, 2 a 25% , 3 a 15% chance etc -maybe that would help? Anyway by creating putting several images on a layer I had somewhat better control of the bunching it seems.

I tried multiple particle groups -so I had mid ground trees, background, foreground but was having a hard time as some stuff seemed to overlap so I gave up -you can see it here.
