Is there any way to make fade-in or fade-out for a picture?
Are there different ways to do it? Like from the particular side or whole pic fade?

Whatever you want to fade in/out: check this layer's "allow animated layer effects", then create keys by setting opacity.

Moving fades can be done with masks and some layer with a soft edge moving in/out.
