Just some random movements with my Evander Holyfield character rig.

Wow - this is amazing. Do you have a similar rig for a 3/4 view? Because that's the one you'll need for a dialogue scene.

Thanks, ST, really appreciate it.

I'm not sure I understand your question?

What I mean is, I can animate all his features (mouth eye, eyebrows, etc.) from all views. I would just need to turn his body somewhat for a 3/4th view. I could do that through manipulating his body bones and points in real time, or create a smart bone.

This character will only be on screen for 2 seconds, and won't have any dialogue so I guess it doesn't really matter for him, haha.

That is very impressive! I love the character design and the turn looks just right.

I kept watching it over and over grinning. I like the way you animate! I just realized you can draw caricatures. That is definitely a useful skill for an animator. Nice work!

That was part of the goal. To have more natural shifts in weight. Even if subtle. I will post a few more clips from this project, as I'm not sure when I will get to finish it. I have commissioned projects as well as some pitch meetings, so time is slim. If only I could animate as quickly as I think :(

Thanks, dude. Your comment made me grin as well. Yeah, caricatures really are more of a science then an art. Or at least it starts that way. Everything is based on principles that someone, somewhere along the way, deemed as "the way" to do things. Then us artists come in, learn those 'rules'... then eventually get bored... and start experimenting :)

I learned the basic principles from my friend who owns a successful caricature business here in Vegas.

Here's a couple of quick sketches I did a loooonnnng time ago. Can you guess who they are?

Well, I apparently don't know how to post images properly... oh well....

I can only name Ellen. I recognize the other personalities but I don't know their names. The likenesses are excellent and the degree of caricature is mild. I like the balance. The idea of a character drawing style somewhere between realism and caricature is appealing.
A flaw in my personality is that discovering all these jewels of knowledge often causes me to abandon current projects. I actually feel mentally challenged because I can't learn everything as fast as think I should. My reaction is to work even harder. Let me emphasize I enjoy the process. :D

Nice caricatures!
