"Buddies" Episode 1 (Part 1)
Hello everyone,
Well, I've been working hard on my series. Here's what I have so far. It's an unlisted link as of now, wanted to get some feedback from you guys.
It's not as amazing as some of the stuff I see you guys do on here, but I am new to all of this.
I want to say thanks to SlowTiger, Selgin, and Funksmaname. As well as everyone on here that has answered a question or offered a solution. This is truly the best forum I've ever been a part of.

Please watch in HD.

Looks really pro. Characters are funny and memorable.
My only suggestion is to add long shots whenever Ray moves in or out of frame (eg., when old lady closes the door, just before the cops start shooting, etc.) to help continuity. Don't know if you storyboard, but that would help work out the shots.
Best of luck on the series.

i enjoyed your animation a lot..its very intelligent that you did all the animation by yourself
Re: "Buddies" Episode 1 (Part 1)
That was pretty well done. Good work. Almost feels pro. The character design is good, lip syncing good, the voice acting is good and the story is good. Keep up the good work. I can see this getting popular with a steady fan base.

KenW, Artpen, Ahzra, Shift,
Thanks you for your comments.
FeeblyWeebly,
Wow, what can I say to a compliment like that. Thanks!
Neeters,
Yeah, I know. There was a lot of "crossing the line". I did rough SBs, but they were after everything was created and rigged in AS (BGs, Characters, etc.), so I ran into the problem of having to work with what I had. I just became a bit overwhelmed with everything. I will plan better for future installments. But I appreciate the feedback. I'm a big fan of your work.

Great characters bud! I enjoyed it. Seams like everyone's using bones, maybe I should try them.

Regarding storyboarding, I'd recommend Sherm Cohen's tutorials. He sells an in-depth dvd set, but his free tuts on youtube are also invaluable: Storyboard Secrets. I highly recommend them, he really demytifies the storyboarding process.Yosemite Sam wrote:I did rough SBs, but they were after everything was created and rigged in AS (BGs, Characters, etc.), so I ran into the problem of having to work with what I had. Yeah, but I really admire the traditional look of your work. I used bones because it saved me time. I want to have a more frame by frame look. I like a lot of the shows that Mondo Media is putting out and they all use Flash. I'm not sure if I can create the same effect in ASP. I've been watching a bunch of tuts on Flash (shame on me ).Joofville wrote:Great characters bud! I enjoyed it. Seams like everyone's using bones, maybe I should try them.
It would suck to have to start all over with a new program, but the material must come first, the tools second.
