Need to be done for improoved productivity

Post by Glenfx »

We are experimenting with Moho for the creation of an animated series. So far we found it to be a great solution for fast and affordable animation. though there are some issues that need solution before it can be fully implemented in most animation studios, thouh our studio might take on with Moho as their lead animation program.

One Huge problem we found is the Adobe ilustrator import feature, we use AI as our core design software, we followed the solutions in the forums but we ended up cleaning much of the extra dots created to keep the original shape as designed in AI. (production wise is not quite affordable)

If such a feature is difficult to implement, another solution would be to improove the "add point" tool to be equal to the paths in AI or Photoshop, We found the "Curvature" tool to be a bit inadecuate to use and has a curvature limit that leads to create another dot to manipulate the curvature a bit further.

A feature we would like implemented is a style export/import. I mean. since the Adobe Ilustrator problem doesnt only affect the lines, but the colors as well, we think it could be a great solution if we are able to save a style as a file then when we need a specific style we should only import it from the saved file instead of creating the style again. (could be implemented in the same style tab under new/delete/delete unused, for ease of use)
This is mostly because we create new drawings and poses of a sertaing character depending on the action and scene layout.

A last feature we would love seeing is the ability to change the end of the lines, we can only achieve square line end widths. We need the ability to change the end of some lines to be round instead of square.

Other than that, we are loving every second of your program.

To export/import styles, try this: Make a new Moho document. Draw several squares (or other simple shapes) in an empty layer. Create a different style and apply it to each square. Save the document. Now, import this layer into any Moho file you want to use the styles in, using File->Import->Moho Object. The squares and the styles will be imported - you can just delete the layer of squares and use the styles as you wish.

Rounded line ends:
