rotate extruded shape

Is there a way to rotate an extruded shape so it appears to be viewd by a different angle. I am not referring tot he camera, that sees the who scene, but just an individual shape.

Another way of saying this is can I change the angle of the extrusion or is it fixed?

You can use the x, y layer rotation.
