How do I edit TEXT once inserted?

I'm finding it hard to see if it is possible to edit text once it has been inserted into a layer.
I'm using Anime Studio Debut 6.
Is it at all possible? for it would make it simpler for me to change current text, which then would behave the same way as original animated text I've created?
Would love to hear any views or solutions to the problem or an other way to get around it?

Once you press apply in the text dialog a shape is inserted in the vector layer. There is not Text layer in AS. It is not possible to edit the inserted text

You can do some simple editing as long as your text is not one piece. Made an .anime file to show this, but do not seem to be able to upload it.

You have to use some file sharing site like MediaFire.

Yes, I am going to have to look in to using a site.
Does anyone have a favorite, with free being a leading factor.

Leave the "Create one shape" box unchecked and you can treat the letters as vector shapes. They can be moved, fill and line changed, anything you can do with vector shapes. The only thing I would hesitate on would be changing the font. Too much work doing that. I would put text on it's own layer so I could redo the layer instead of trying to rearrange everything.

I have been having fun putting text into a physics group, sliding them off a ramp into a fan motor or just dumping them on the ground and watching them bounce or dropping a ball on them and watching them scatter.

I just had an idea. A pachinko machine with letters.

This may not be helpful to you but I created a "font" script or tool for AS that creates just stroke shapes. I use it for labeling bones and writing instructions. Because it only uses strokes and the font is VERY simple it keeps the files from getting hard to work with using regular font shapes.

The font isn't "pretty" though mainly "functional".

Here's a sample of the stroke font I created:

Thanks G, Cyberife, Imago and Vern,
for all your help on this.
All the comments have been really helpful.
I've attacked my immediate issue with importing the text
as image then replacing the source file in the layer, so the behavior
and key frames etc stays
the same the same. Not ideal, but works for the current situation.
I will explore other alternatives before my next project.
( just around the corner).

Cheers,
GV

I'm glad there are editable text layers in Moho now as the following video shows:

I know this is an old thread to re-open, but it shows up as the first Google search result for "edit text in Moho", and so I hope my response will help others like myself who were wondering whether it's possible or not.

Good luck with your projects all!
