In simple tests (not a large project, not all features checked):
1) Snappier launch.
2) No tool lag.
3) Text/numeric fields back to normal.
4) Single-frame render tests a bit quicker.
Sidenote: Double-clicking Layer to open Layer Options back? This had been absent in 5, no? Cool!
If anything bad pops up, I'll post again, but -- generally -- a BIG improvement. Back on par with v4.6. Thanks for the hard work ....

Re: Early Results: Patch Rocks ...
No, that was always there in v5, but the lag that was all over the place may have made it slow to respond.Yooperville wrote:Sidenote: Double-clicking Layer to open Layer Options back? This had been absent in 5, no? Cool!
I thought this update was supposed to fix user-interface sluggishness, which it may have, I have not tested that yet, but it does seem to have improved the rendering speed.
I have a 43 second animation that normally takes aprox 1 hour to render on my 400mhz Powerbook. Now it takes 41 minutes.
This is a significant improvement, thanks very much!
