I command you all to believe in your animating skills and get to work. I believe this is my last post on this thread. - Steve

There are indeed subjects -- lots of them, in fact -- where there is only 100% right and wrong. In every one of those instances, someone believing something else doesn't make it a debate, it just makes them wrong.

Ok, it was my second to last post. True, some things are matters of fact. The earth revolves around the sun, racism has no scientific basis, it's now 12:05 a.m. (Monday) in Berlin and 6:05 p.m. (Sunday) in New York. It's consensus among civilized people that Nazism was criminal. There are some people who thínk differently but I personally would not accept their opinion as legitimate.

Where sexism begins and ends is a much more difficult question. We probably both agree that rape is morally unacceptable (besides being illegal) but where to draw the line between harmless humor and downgrading someone's dignity is a bit more difficult. If an animation scene that offends someone's sensitivities is an essential part of my project, I would probably keep it. Nobody has absolute knowledge on what is in good or poor taste, or how something will affect a viewer. I personally wasn't offended by the tutorial, there are movie productions being hyped as great art that I do consider offensive and won't view. In either case, I could be wrong or might change my view in a few years, and I would certainly be wrong if I tried to impose my views on everybody else. This is getting too long-winded, I'll stop here and get some sleep.

This is true. As the video isn't sexist though, it's not a question that needs to be addressed.

Groan - because your subjective opinion is objective fact? I suppose I should say thanks for illustrating my point so perfectly. I wish everyone in the forum a great 2014 and hope for new threads and productive discussions.

No, because fact is fact.

This whole mess got started because I was accused of being a male chauvinist pig (opinion), even though that was never the intent (fact).

I think I might make a booby tutorial every week now, as it's a sure fire hit (fact) even if it's perceived as sexist (opinion).

:p

And Happy New Year to all you guys (and girls) as well!

You're welcome, and please make sure to point me to the finished work!

(I remember news snippets about cocaine being smuggled in "implants", which is a death threat ticking, and of some interest to real border patrol people, so it could be a story point. Another bit was about old breast implants exploding in old planes without pressure compensation, I'm not sure if this is credible.)

Heh i will if i ever start on it

I never heard that about the cocaine, I'm sure bp will have it's necessary rights withheld on that front as well...

I remember the other story, though, and Mythbusters did a bit on it to test whether it could actually happen.
Apperently it can... if your airline makes use of the exosphere
The air at travelling heights supposedly only gets thin enough to cause some swelling in most implants
But, maybe if they were really cheap or really old...!
