Re: AS Pro 10 BENCHMARKS
You didn't specify output project size, so I did it at 1080p and 540p.
CPU: I7 930 (quad core 2.3Ghz)
Ram: 24GB
Disks:
C: OS: C: raid-0 pair (155MB/s read/write) Win7x64
B: SSD 270MB/s read/write: application Anime Studio Pro 10 x64
Render to B:
Render times:
11:50 @ 1080p
3:20 @ 540p
By changing the destination render disk to:
F: (external 128MB/s); render time @1080p 12:50
D: (internal raid-0 pair 250MB/s write) render time @1080p=
In all cases, my processor only got to about 70% max utilization and RAM only 29%. I watched Windows Resource monitor: the application only uses 1.7GB (commit) and 1.6GB (working) ram. And can see that my c drive (os) is getting a lot of activity during render, even though the application is stored on B:. Also, it seems like very poor use of resources: it doesn't appear to be waiting on any drive, yet the cpu and RAM are not being used. What's the system waiting for?
I use Anime Studio Pro professionally and I wish Smith Micro would put out information for grown-ups about how to optimize a workstation for their application.

Wow, that's some machine, almost halved the render, nice.EHEBrandon wrote:Sorry for bumping an hold thread but I love doing benchmarks.

Re: AS Pro 10 BENCHMARKS
I just tried this and got 4:13
I noticed my CPU usage went up to about 90%, but memory usage was never about 40%, and Disk usage was 0-1%
RENDER TIME: 4 min 13 secs
CPU: i7 4790 3.60GHz 4 Cores (8 logical processors) 64bit
GPU: NVIDIA GTX745 (stock Dell thing)
RAM: 12GB 1600MHz
OS: Windows 10
HDD: not SSD
Also, for the first half of the test, firefox was using over 1Gb of memory till I closed it Also there were other things open on the machine so it might be slightly quicker if everything is off (?)

Re: AS Pro 10 BENCHMARKS
Are these still ASP 10 benchmarks?

Re: AS Pro 10 BENCHMARKS
I retested mine in ASP 11 with win 10 on the same machine and it was actually a lot slower, about 7:41 seems very odd.

Have you told Win 10 to use your dedicated graphics card for AS?chucky wrote:I retested mine in ASP 11 with win 10 on the same machine and it was actually a lot slower, about 7:41 seems very odd.

Re: AS Pro 10 BENCHMARKS
Was this resolved? Or is ASP 11 slower than ASP 10?
Re: AS Pro 10 BENCHMARKS
More like my hardware got slower I would think.
