Epic Mario Bros

Post by Nephilim »

Hey guys,

It's been awhile but I'd like to post the latest episode of a web series I'm making called epic mario bros. Basically if you've played an old mario video game this is an animation mimicking that but with Mario overcoming incredible challenges and obstacles. Its a work in progress but I'd just like to hear what you guys had to say:

Episode 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBYOoGjPXns

Episode 2 and 1 were more tests than finished products but here they are:

1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulWmQx0w3MM
2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiGVhTDaNFQ

And yes, I am still using my old moho free demo. Please don't yell at me :D

That's really fun to watch! I thought you were making good use of the Physics engine until I saw the moho logo and realized it was all done by hand. Very good work!

These are pretty good. But would it not be easier to lift the sprites from the original games? But fair play anyway for creating it all from scratch.

Keep up the good work.

It's a good video, there is a lot of emprovement from the other episodes, if it was mine I would work more on design. Good work!

I greatly appreciate everyone's comments so far.

Here is a slightly improved version (you may not notice the changes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBYOoGjPXns

That was great! A ton of fun to watch; not only for the awesome kinetic energy of the whole thing, but the little touches (the fireballs looked perfect, and the camera shake when the spikes hit ground was dynamite)

No, Sir. Born, raised, and educated all in Illinois.
