View more than one bone keyframes at a time?
I find it difficult to animate without seeing more than one layer of bones keyframes in the timeline at a time.
I know the black bone layer shows keys for all the bones but once that get full it can also be a bit confusing to get precise fine tuning.
Is there a way to select bones by name and show them or even all of the bones of a character? I don't mind scrolling up down down a list.

You can name bones right when you're creating them, or even later. Select the "bone select" tool (B) and use the text field on top of the workspace.
You can also create keys by right-clicking into the timeline. I don't have problems to create keys by cliclking into the workspace, in fact I use it the whole time: select all bones with cmd-a, then click with the rotation tool somewhere into the window.
