Hi All,
I'm running XP pro, SP3, and have previously had The Java Runtime Environment (Virtual machine) and Jlipsync installed. They worked fine.
Now... my HDD died the other day, so I got a new one and made a clean install of Windows, installed exactly the same versions of windows, JRE and Jlipsync, and all of a sudden... not working. The program loads, the menus work, but when I click any of the folliwng options, nothing happens...
SAVE-SAVE AS-OPEN
In other words, I basically can't load any files. Is there something missing? have I forgotten some crucial step when I reinstalled all the software? I have a feeling I may be forgetting something. I think it may be something to do with JRE/JVM as I have exactly the same issue when trying to run the new program Yolo.
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy
Anybody had problems with JVM-JRE & Jlipsync-Yolo?

So, file dialogs aren't opening on Java apps which previously worked fine? The only special thing about them is they access your file system. So it's likely to be an over-eager firewall blocking that.
Try getting offline, temporarily switching off your firewall, then seeing if JLipsync works as expected. I'm guessing it will.
If it does, you need to tweak your firewall rules, to offer fuller permissions for "Java(TM) Platform SE binary" (or Java.exe, Javaw.exe). Also make sure there are no rules blocking JLipSync.jar, although that's unlikely.
Depending on your firewall software, this tweaking will either be real easy, or a total 'mare. But the relevant support forum should help you out.
Hope that helps, Nick.
