He's asleep.

We need to pool our funds and send him one of those webcam usb nerf
missile launchers, so we can get him up whenever we want to write scripts
and make video demos of software features.

I guess to fit into the Manga Studio style branding range - Debut and EX

so the Pro version of Anime Studio may now be called Anime Studio EX?

This is so exiting!
I want my copy now! I want to animate!!!

Thank you Synth, I hope you wake up soon and continue exploring and making us envy you so much.

Anyway, if Mike Clifton read this, thank you for this great version 6. It's sad to know from walmart and not here, but the features are making me forget the pain.

Ahhhhhhh, I want to animate!!!

$150 for an upgrade??? That's freakin insane.

It looks like I won't be upgrading anytime soon.

I agree. I dunno whats going with SM as they are about to shut the CP forums down where i am sure many of the newer members found out about the original lost marble forum from.
Although i do not post here much, they better not get in the way of this forum aswell.

I have the same problem, money is tight at the moment. I guess I will just have to wait the few months until the inevitable "special upgrade deal"... 8)

IMHO the thing which makes the upgrade price seem so cynical
is that you only save $50 off the price of the full licence,
and I'll pay regardless. That's what annoys me, they know
we'll pay. $150 in the scheme of things, for some updated
and maybe some new functionality in AS, is not really much.

I'm not saying it's fair, or reasonable. I don't think it's either.
But I'll pay.

I've paid a lot more for a lot less in other app upgrades.

It's quite amazing how little SmithMicro does to promote their new software. As if they want to make sure as few people as possible will buy the upgrade. It's one thing not being good at marketing, but this is just... I don't know.

As far as the upgrade price is concerned. The debut version only costs 29$ to upgrade. If you're after the pro version, 129$ in the grand scheme of things is still not a lot, when is the last time we had to pay for an upgrade? Compare the 129$ to the price of any other animation/compositing package and you'll realize what a ridiculously cheap deal this is.

It only had two of those little boxes, and then I accidentally clicked beside one and a third appeared.
But are they animatable? I mean, the color, the position and the amount of gradient stops.

This is so fuckin' unbelievably good news ... except for the upgrade price which I can't afford to pay right now. (Well, I can't even pay my rent now, so that's a minor problem.)

It sounds like lots of our and even some of my suggestions found their way into the code. I especially like the new interface, from what I can see so far on one single screenshot - synth, could you possibly show us how keys on timelines look now? The tools have been relieved from the useles boxes around them. Much redundancy has been cleaned up, the whole interface looks clearer now, much less confusing.

The best single improvement seems to be the sequencer - I can't even imagine how much this will speed up my workflow.

Now if only a shitload of money will fall down on me from heaven soon ...

Wow, this is exciting! I will have to wait for a download version though. If my wife learns I am buying this expensive upgrade she will kill me! Well, at least I would get into big trouble. I hope that SM hurries up with the download version.
Thanks to everyone that made suggestions how to improve the software, by the way.

Please excuse the banding on this gif. The actual gradients are as smooth as usual. But you can animated their angle, colors, and POSITION!!
