Traditional Animation Test

Post by DarkMProductions »

Hey there, its been a long while since my last post, but I am back in buisness and I am going to start a new project very soon. So here are a couple of animation tests I did for the new project.

Ar you sure this is the same character? I find the start and end poses too different for my taste. The second half is OK, but I recommend to rework the first pose.

Aside from that, it's a nice example of a proven workflow.

I know what you mean and completely agree with you, but this was my very first foray into traditional animation so I'm still a novice at it. I have improved a lot since this one though.

Did you draw model sheets of your character? That might help you keep the character consistent looking from all angles...

Good model sheet examples:

I did not use a model sheet for it, and now I relies how important those are and I'll be sure to use them from now on. But here is another test I did, this time experimenting with expressions and reactions, with a much simpler character this time. Enjoy.

Edit:

Here are some more pencil tests I recently did, enjoy.
