Import image sequences

Post by stalti »

I just played around with Moho's Image Layers and imported movies and images in various formats. It worked incredibly good and I thought ... wow, Moho would be a wonderful 'pencil-test' program for traditional animators. (Remember the thread about a new type of layer for frame-by-frame animations ... guess this solution would be easier to implement, because most of the functionality allready exists ... here you don't need to be able to edit the image ... just import your drawings)

Well, I have a Quicktime movie of an animation in black and white. In order to
show only the black lines (white is transparent) in Moho, I had to export the movie as image sequence (eg. PNG), then I edited one image with Photoshop to make the background transparent, then I saved as PNG.
After that one I've had enough.

So my proposals:
- It would be cool, if you could define a transparent color for images and
- if you could import image sequences

Nevertheless, perhaps I oversaw an existing possibility that quickly solved my 'problem'. (Or if you know some freeware that achieves the desired results quickly ... please tell me)

What do you think about that?

Nice greetings

Dear Mohoans

I found a fast and simple solution! (So that feature request gets obsolete)
For anyone who's interested. (Hope this isn't too off topic)

You just need Quicktime-Pro.
1. Open your b/w image sequence with QT
2. Movie->Get Movie Properties ... Popup window appears
3. Select Videotrack in left dropdown
4. Select Graphics Mode in right dropdown
5. Select transparent and choose the color that should be transparent
6. Close popup window
7. Export ... export movie as Quicktime Movie ... options ... settings ... Compression: Animation
Colors: Millions of Colors+

and VOILA ...

Moho: new image layer -> select the QT movie ....
Very cool :-)
