Gargoyle

Post by Nucleus »

something else I'm working on. seems I'm to become the king of unfinished projects. but yes, its a gargoyle animation. still a bit of figuring out the wings and if possible, to use bones and switch layers successively as to produce its downward motion without breaking the chain. Is to be a game boss character (scrapped the Evil Dead concept).

Cool!
Maybe the color scheme could be improved to show more details (too dark)
Keep it up!

Thanks Genete.
The coloring is intentional. wanna keep it looking dark and ominous. whats kicking my butt is the wings. attempting to get a bat-like flow to them. still quite a few updates necessary till it looks decent.

I love the character! It seems too dark to me, too, but I think you could lighten it up a little for clarity while keeping the dark feeling. Very well drawn. Did you draw that in AS?

Here's a link to a movie of a bat flying in slow motion that might be helpful.

Thanks Jack.
The character was created using the line tool. shape was roughly outlined then tightened as I applied some detail using variations of smooth, peak and curvature tool. thanks much for the flying fox clip. pretty cool.
heres the same sequence without effects for a bit more clarity.

That's looking great, Gustavo. Actually, you could put some of the dark shading back in, but maybe in a more subtle way. Looking good in this version, though. I like the style.
