It's impossible to keep track with all the new developments in the field. Here's something I just stumbled over https://wonderdynamics.com/. It replaces a human in a video with a CGI character of your choice. Haven't tried, don't need (hopefully never).

Wow, that software is incredible. It looks especially useful for animating human-like robots and aliens.

I have access to the software by asking to be on the beta team. I like to see what happens when you mix Moho and Wonderland.
