Hello, I'm having an issue with the merge skeleton script: "ae_merge_skeletons.lua"
I've used it multiple times to re-use eye rigs on different characters, and it works great.
Right now, I am trying to import my eye rig on a character. When I import it, everything looks fine. But when I run the script to merge the skeletons, some layers on the left eye disappear. Their layer is greyed out and the timeline turns red for them as if they are invisible. But their visibility is turned on. I can't get them to show up. I've tried it on different characters and on different computers with the same results. I've tried merging the eye rig onto a basic 1 bone skeleton, and it works for that. So the script seems to work sometimes. There must be some error with trying to merge with these more complex skeletons but I can't figure out from where.

Nice rig Jonathon.
This was the first time I used this script ( I think it's the same), I used it as a menuscript
I didn't get great results either.

I did notice some of the layer orders got jumbled so the eyeshadow layers ended up on top of the eyes otherwise that part was all cool.
Most of my issues were with hierarchy. Which look like a can of worms. I think I deleted the wrong bones... who knows I need to see a tute n how to use that script, I guess.
I would use this all the time, if I knew how, It's a crucial tool really.

I'm not sure if I was even close to using it right but I first deleted the bones I wanted to replace and then actually position the bones and the layers where I wanted them to go.
Then I put the layers in order (pretty sloppily). Maybe that had an effect on the masking?

Hey Chucky, the issue is not with the masking. I've tried to disable the masking just to check, and the issue is still there. Plus, masking wouldn't make the layers go grey and the timeline to turn red. So there's something else going on that I can't figure out.
Yes, the layer orders are easily fixed. That's not a problem

Hmmm seems pretty mysterious, is it any different if you open the rig and eye separately the copy the eye and paste it is the rig?

I haven't used that one, but Mult Rush has this tool that could help you and has a video tutorial about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIdPWnXeFpo

It's a pity that some of the best scripts don't have instructions on how to use them or it's not clear what they do.
