Masking Question

Post by teotoon »

Hello friends,

Here is the question: Is it possible to mask a bitmap layer with a vector layer? To be more exact; iris is bitmap and eye ball is vector, can we mask iris with eye ball?

Thanks in advance and have a nice day...

Yes you can.

Create a vector layer and draw the eyeball vector shape inside. Then import a png with your iris bitmap, scale and position the bitmap layer to fit the eyeball.

Select both of these layers and right-click, click on group selected layers. To activate the mask you can right-click on this group and select "mask - inside of the bottom layer" which means "everything inside this group will be visible only when it is inside the bottom layer of this group" so make sure that the bottom layer of the group is the eyeball vector layer.

Then you probably want to double click on the eyeball vector layer, go to mask and select "exclude lines" to that the lines of the eyeball can be seen on top of the iris.
