2.5D Fingers / Legs / Arms experiments.

Post by Lychee »

I will post here my 2.5D experiences on the fingers, legs, arms ... to have your help in order to improve them.

07.20.2020: Leg test

I am happy to announce that I have finally (after tons of R&D) found a new way to create a leg in false 3D, which can be manipulated easily as in 2D.
The problem is, this calls for a lot of bone, as Moho is very unstable when it comes to using target bones in complex ways.

I am sharing a video and the file for you to study, because I couldn't give you a tutorial for lack of time, but if someone understands how my build works and can explain it to others, that would be cool.

And the file:

08.09.2017: Finger ariculation and hand test

I create a new type of articulation for the fingers (you can use it for Something else), here is a video of the operation.

After that I managed to make an entire hand composed by this articulation.

Here are the files of these experiences, feel free to explore them and give me your suggestions for improvements.

Wow. Brilliant results. I'll have to see how you did it when I have the time to dedicate to it.

Lychee. That is just freaking awesome. The hand is so lightweight too and was very easy to operate.
Well done!!!

I work to improve my fake 3d puppets and here is my last Test.

My construction is still too complicated to explain it and that is why I would not share this file.
But you will find above a video to explain the basics of my idea.
As usual feel free to simplify and make improvement on your side.

Best regards.

I found this hand rig pretty impressive:

Though it seems to be a bit cartoonier than what you're going for. I made a three-fingered version for my own work that does the job so far.
