I got the new 9.5 update. I saw on one of the video tutorials that when using the shape selector, instead of the checkerboard highlighting, it is supposed to now be a red box for better visibility of your work. I still get the checkerboard, but I can see the live color changes on the canvas. anyone else still got checkerboard instead of red box with update?

Uncheck "Checker selection" in the style window.

Thankyou Selgin, I should have seen that :) I'm actually glad that I have a choice (checkerboard or not)

Thanks to the developer!
How is it better for poser 2014? Does it support the new comic render?

I hope that I am understanding this correctly, but it seems that with this wonderful 9.5 version's Flexi Binding improvement, that separating the body parts for bone rigging and your characters exploding in "frame zero" will be a THING OF THE PAST. Am I correct?

I havn't used the offset bones method in ages, I used bind points instead, but the new flexi binding makes things easier for sure.

No it doesn't support the comic book mode, as that is a Poser Preview mode.
It(Anime Studio Pro) does support imported Poser Projects with some of the new features in Poser 2014. Like the Bullet Physics.

Yes and no.

This works with separate layers, but won't work with individual shapes on one layer (feature request? :) ). It all depends on how you create and rig your characters. If you want to use this to completely eliminate bone offset than all the shapes that would need this type of selective flexible binding will need to be on separate layers. Sometimes a character rig won't be created that way and sometimes it will.

Also I find that sometimes I need bone offset when there are a lot of bones close together. it makes it easier to select and adjust the bones. For simple rigs that isn't a problem. Also, I don't have to do any layer by layer point binding settings with bone offset, so it saves some time, but of course might be a wash having to offset the bones.

Don't get me wrong, it's a freaking awesome new feature to add to the mix of cool tools and features. I can see this working great in some cases, but still might need the "old way" in other cases.

The mouse scroll always zoomed in and out of the stage for me, I never even knew of this timeline scrub. What a great feature!

Pretty excited about these new features. Particularly the nested layers, switch groups and mask groups all working with bones. New Flexibind improvements are also great. Should make character rigging quicker.

Hopefully v10 will see proper motion blur and the option of switching to bezier drawing tools instead of the current set of tools.
