Patch Layers Not Working When Rendering

Post by Bobsten »

Ive put the patch layers on, and binded them to the right layers but when i render the project it shows the lines that shouldn't be there. (The front arm and both legs)

Please help me with this. :P

Is it only in the render that they don't show up i.e. are they working in the workspace? What format are you exporting? Can you post the anime file so we can check it?

You could try Quicktime, H264 or PNG compression. If you don't have quicktime installed on your computer, you should install it. ASP needs it to play MP3 audio files, so it would be good to have and it has better codecs for video.

Upload the anime file to a file sharing site like DROPBOX or MEDIAFIRE , both have free accounts. That way we can check it on our end.

The video shows the problem but doesn't let us see what's causing it. You need to upload the anime file for us to be able to help you.

Its the layer shadow and shading effects that are causing the problem. If you turn it off on the layers you have it applied to, the patches render fine. I don't use layer shadows much so I don't know why it messes with patches. It must push the shape in the z axis so that its in front of the patch. If you want to keep the effect, instead of patches, you could use actual shapes with no stroke to cover the joints.
