Tradition Animated TVC done in AS
Hi.
Thought you might like to see some traditional animation that we have just finished done entirely in AS. All drawings were, scanned, transparency processed to maintain the quality of the felt pen linework then all the colouring was done in AS via coloured vector shapes placed on layers beneath the line art and tweeked FBF to match the movements in each scene.
LOW QUALITY. Please watch small.

Yes....it was extremely tedious. There is an app called Flipbook that has some fantastically advanced colouring tools for hand drawn FBF work. It allows the user to colour a bunch selected sections in a group of hand drawn transparences all at once along the timeline.
I wish AS had some of these features.

Hi Amiga.....yu're not wrong mate!!!...I think it was the most time consuming project I have ever done. It makes me reflect on the old cel painters and how long it must have taken them to produce animation.

Though tedious I used to find cel painting quite therapeutic at times. The key was to put a blob of paint in the centre of the area and then push the paint out from the middle to the line. I did an 8 minute film on cel (though I did get help with painting) so I can fully sympathise with the tedium you went through.
The final result is worth it though as that's a great looking piece of animation you've done.
