There are paid software, but I use Audacity to change my voice with pitch, compression and other effects.

Audacity is a good choice for changes to an existing recording.

For on-the-fly changes (the software changes your voice as you speak, and acts like a sound source/microphone for your recording software), maybe MophVox Junior, the cut-down free version of the paid program: http://screamingbee.com/Product/MorphVOXJunior.aspx
