Looks fantastic, Lychee. I know the rig I demonstrated is complex, but that's only because we don't have bone compression or scale/position control of smartbone actions. When the developers add these improvements, the entire rig should be greatly simplified and easier to setup and manage. I usually use z-depth to manage layer ordering which is also why I suggested they add nested layer depth control, but we'll have to wait and see how that goes.

Hi Lychee,
Are you able to do a quick tutorial on setting your rig up?

Cheers

Fantastic! Doesn't have to be complicated. Just covering the basics would be great! !

These are awesome :D I wish I could just work on this stuff all the time. What's not to love! The creativity ... the math ... trying to create stories. For a while I'd been trying to figure out correcting blended smart bones. Now I see in dwkroot's example what's probably been obvious to you long time users, use more bones :)

But even better, dwkroot, your tutorial was awesome! There are so many gems there, even beyond the 2.5 D turn, which by itself is wonderful. But it also shows really interesting techniques of decoupling transformations and proximity based influence. Thanks so much for sharing. I also really appreciate the math illustration on corrective action.

Lychee and Dueyftw, Thank you so much for sharing your work as well. Lychee, I'm excited to analyze your example to understand the details.

Everyone on this forum shares such interesting and helpful work. Thank you so very much. It makes working with Anime Studio a pure joy :)

Awesome stuff from everyone... let's hope corrective actions aren't too far off.
I'm sure this topic provides plenty of inspiration for the developers as well as the users.
Bravo Ponysmasher, DK ,Dale , Lychee and Sang.

What I would like to see is Smart Bones with a math dialog. So in say Smart Bone 'B1' the dialog could be (2*rotation B2). Now as B2 turns B1 will rotate twice as fast. Or (rotation B2+ movement B3 +length B4) and now B1 will have the all the attributes of the other bones. And attribute conversion, so (rotation B1= length B2). Now B1 rotation is controlled by the length of B2.

Just saw this now (late to the conversation) all I can say it thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm not even close to being at the level to understand the bone set up, but now I know that I need to understand it.

This board is awesome

So, when are you going to do your tutorial? I'm sure it would help us a lot!
