Lost Marble Rigging templates

Post by musajoe »

Hello All,

LM should have a set of rigging templates. Walk cycles, jumps, running, flexing, slaps, stomps... This would allow users to see the "Lost Marble" way of doing animations and using the new tools without starting from scratch. Kind of like the way Microsoft includes templates.

Also why not include a skeleton in Moho a bone or a rigged skeleton.
Most users are going to make a skeleton. Why not just have a skeleton already made? This would help users.

The problem is that Moho is a 2D program, not 3D. In 3D you could create a generic, reusable skeleton that would work for many characters.

On the other hand, in Moho, you often set up a character depending on the point of view for that particular shot. In other words, a front-facing skeleton would be set up very differently from a side view of the same character. When you start talking about actions, it becomes even more complex - a character walking from the side view is going to be very different from a character walking straight towards you.

In 3D, the movements would be the same, you just change the camera angle. In Moho's 2D environment, the movements are completely different and incompatible - you just can't create a generic, reusable skeleton in a 2D environment like Moho.

You can create reusable setups, but just not generic enough that it would fit everyone's needs in all kinds of different scenes.
